Iconic Land Rover Defender gets a bold, new makeover

Italian coachbuilder Ares Modena spices up the classic Land Rover Defender with a new convertible upgrade. Dubbed the Ares Defender Cabrio, this bespoke vehicle offers an exhilarating open-air driving experience perfect for off-roading. With its rugged and muscular appearance, it’s the ultimate adventure ride. While the coachbuilder hasn’t released many details yet, they’ve teased us with a few photos on Instagram.

The new Ares Defender Cabrio is sleek and mean, sporting a simple black paint job with military green accents.

The blacked-out Ares design alloy wheels with off-road tires add to the rugged vibe, and a spare wheel on the hood makes it even more adventurous. With a 5.3-liter V8 engine and 4WD with three lockable differentials, this car packs a powerful punch.

The Ares Defender Cabrio is the new spicy convertible version of the Ares Defender, complete with a five-seater setup and stylish green seats. You can equip it with the latest infotainment system, including navigation, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto, and even choose to add heated seats and an electric winch. With a price tag slightly higher than the hardtop version, this hot ride is perfect for those who want a little extra luxury.

If you’re after a more affordable option, Heritage Customs has got you covered with their drop-top Defender 90, available for around $90,600. And if you prefer supercars to offroaders, don’t worry – Ares also offers commissions for custom coachworks.
