Porsche just unveiled their new custom Taycan Turbo S which’s truly a work of art. The design comes from Ding Yi, a famous artist who’s all about the cross symbol.
Although they missed a chance to make it a Taycan Cross Turismo, the final product is stunning. Using the Paint to Sample program, the base color is a deep blue while Yi added his “Appearance of Crosses 2022-2” painting to the hood, spoiler, and side mirrors.
“Porsche has just completed the most intricate paint job ever requested,” revealed Alexander Fabig, VP of Individualization and Classic at Porsche. He further explained that the task involved replicating artist Ding Yi’s masterpiece onto the car’s body – a process that took much longer than standard car painting. Porsche has proven that even in the automotive world, creativity knows no bounds!

The painting design was used on the door panels, dashboard, and front cup holders in the car, but only some parts due to limited space.
The abstract Taycan Turbo S is not focused on powertrains but has two electric motors with 750 horsepower, can go 0-60mph in 2.6 seconds, and has a range of 222 miles. Yi will drive the car in style, showing off the creative collaboration that began in 2020 on the streets of Shanghai.

Porsche China’s boss, Michael Kirsch, couldn’t get enough of working with Ding Yi. He loved Ding’s energy and creativity. Porsche China has a special program called Sonderwunsch. It’s where they make exclusive cars for people who love special things. This time, Ding Yi made a fantastic car that they could show off.
Porsche doesn’t just work with Ding Yi. Jennie, a K-pop star, got her own custom Porsche too! But, it’s not just about giving cars to rich people. Porsche also made a car based on a character from the movie Cars. They auctioned it for charity and raised a whopping $3.6 million!
